About Me
Carrie was born and raised in California. She was first introduced to running in high school and instantly fell in love with the sport. She was a 2 time California state champion, and continued her running career at the NCAA DI level at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she was lucky enough to be coached by the renowned Mark Wetmore, Heather Burroughs, and Billy Nelson. Her time at CU Boulder had its ups and downs. Carrie made a USA Junior Team for World XC, was a part of 4 XC Nationals teams, and qualified for outdoor nationals. On the flip side, she also dealt with a number of bone stress injuries, REDs, and burnout.

After more than a year away from the sport, Carrie slowly introduced running back into her life while working full-time as a teacher. She joined a local track club in Boulder, CO and began loving training again. Over the next 7 years, Carrie used all her past successes and failures to guide her training and racing to keep her loving running and staying injury free. She had to learn how to balance work with training and recovery, and through trial and error developed an approach that worked for her, Carrie’s dedication has translated to a lot of success in the professional world of running, where she has made two more US teams is a 2 x National Champion, a 25km American record holder, has a top 10 finish at both the Chicago and Boston marathon, and has qualified for 3 Olympic Trials.
